Localizzazione territoriale e geografica

Dominating the Esino valley, on the left side of the river, at 305 meters on the sea level, it is directly linked to the town of Jesi, from which it is 24 km far.

La storia

The explanations on the name origins are strictly linked to the history of the near San Benedetto dei Frondigliosi abbey. The construction of the castle on a flat area respect to the abbey of San Benedetto represented the reason for the name of Castel del Piano, from which Castelplanio.
