Localizzazione territoriale e geografica

Arcevia dominates all the Misa valley opening towards the Adriatic sea and it represents the centre of a mountain area where there are its castles (Piticchio, Montale, etc...) From Arcevia it is possible to enjoy a wonderful panorama towards the mountain range where to find mount Cucco, mount Catria and mount Acuto.

La storia

The current name of the town can be dated back to 1817, the year when Pio VII gave it the name of Arcevia, transforming the old Latin denomination Rocca Contrada (arx for Rocca and via for Contrada). To know Arcevia it means to enter the prehistory as it is considered as one of the richest territories of Marche region.
