In the lands of Verdicchio wine

The medieval villages and castles of the Rural District of Quality “Esini Hills” rise in that well known territory for the cultivation of the grapes and the production of the "Verdicchio" wine, exported in all the world. In different periods of the year in these fortresses parties and bound festivals connected with popular traditions, with the relationship between seasons, land and production, are developed. In spring, summer and above all autumn, several days events, attract thousands of tourists to taste the typical products of this generous earth
In the territory of the Esini Hills, there is not only the Mountain Community of the Esino-Frasassi, but also the Mountain Community of San Vicino, that has its seat in Cingoli and includes Apiro and Poggio San Vicino, towns with Roman origins, then destroyed by the wars and the time, refunded in the Middle Ages and embellished during the Renaissance, that are nowadays dipped in an extraordinary beauty landscape.

Didactic activities and workshops

As one was doing once

The students are involved in the realization of a piece of research which will have to take them to improve the knowledge of the relationship between wine, production territory and population. Through the questions of a questionnaire which will go placed to the inhabitants of the place, the students could find out the function of all the objects of the Museum and rebuild the ancient traditions, the way of working and the language of a long time ago, becoming true "reporters" of the local history. At the end of the research the youth will compare the new knowledge to measure themselves in realizing a guided tour of the museum. The workshop give the chance to the pupils to consolidate the capacity to to work in group and to develop social relations above all with the most elderly people able to hand down their knowledge.

TOUR'S TIMETABLE

1st day

Arrival in morning time at Cingoli town tour of historical centre

• tour of the Public Archaeological Museum
• tour of the City Hall and main monuments

13,00 - Packed lunch

• move to the ancient Staffolo village
• tour of Wine’s Art Museum
• workshop

20,00 - dinner and overnight stay

2nd day Breakfast and move to Cingoli’s Lake

• Guided walk in the nature “Lake’s Tour”

13,00 – Lunch

• move to Cupramontana
• tour of the medieval village
• tour of the International Museum of Wine’s Labels
• workshop (alternatively visit and workshop at Civic Art Collection of Castelplanio)

20,00 - dinner and overnight stay

3rd day Breakfast and move to Maiolati Spontini and tour of the village

• tour of “Gaspare Spontini” Museum
• workshop
• walk in the “Light Blue Park”

13,00 - Lunch

15,00 - Tour of the Frasassi’s Cave

• tour of the Millenary San Vittore’s Abbey

Individual attendance’s rate for group of 20 people:

The rates include: museums admission, didactic workshop, guides, full board

Free admission: to the teachers, one person every twenty paying people
